Ukraine's foreign minister issued an alarming statement on Saturday, alleging that Russia may be planning strikes on Ukrainian nuclear facilities before the onset of winter. He urged the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and Ukraine's allies to establish ongoing monitoring missions at the country's nuclear plants.
According to Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha, these potential attacks could target open distribution devices at nuclear power plants and transmission substations, which are vital for the safe operation of nuclear energy. Sybiha's comments were posted on X, a social media platform.
Moscow has yet to respond to these claims, providing no immediate comment on the matter.
