Odisha CM Announces Major Sports Infrastructure Plans During Stadium Visit

Odisha Chief Minister Charan Majhi visited a local stadium on Saturday morning, engaging with residents and reaffirming the state's commitment to sports infrastructure development.
Addressing the media, Majhi announced plans for constructing a national-level stadium in Keonjhar and additional stadiums in district headquarters and panchayats. 'The Odisha government is focused on enhancing sports facilities across the state,' he said, following discussions with the Collector and Sports Minister.
Earlier, as part of National Sports Week from August 26 to 31, the Department of Sports and Youth Services had organized events including kickboxing and Pencak silat performances at Dhauligiri Peace Pagoda. An athletic event was also celebrated at Kalinga Stadium with state-run hostel athletes taking part in various track and field activities and pledging to Fit India.
