The Managing Director of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), Jayen Mehta, revealed on Saturday that an FIR has been lodged with the cybercrime branch of Ahmedabad Police. The legal action targets a 'misinformation campaign' falsely accusing Amul of supplying ghee allegedly containing animal fat to Tirupati Balaji temple.

In an exclusive interview with ANI, Mehta stated, 'In Andhra Pradesh, the ghee used in the Tirupati temple was found to be adulterated. However, some individuals propagated false information, claiming that Amul supplied this ghee to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD).' He emphasized that Amul has never supplied ghee to TTD and that Amul products undergo stringent quality checks.

As the controversy over alleged adulteration in Tirupati temple's prasadam escalated, Amul issued a public statement on September 20, denying any involvement. The clarification was echoed on social media platforms. Meanwhile, political figures and Union Health Minister JP Nadda have demanded thorough investigations, with some accusing opponents of politicizing the issue.
