Bihar Farmers to Reap Benefits from New Initiatives by Agriculture Ministry

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Wednesday unveiled a series of initiatives aimed at bolstering agricultural support for farmers in Bihar. Among the key measures are the establishment of an Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) office and increased funding for hybrid seeds.

The decisions emerged from a high-level meeting held at Krishi Bhawan with Bihar Agriculture Minister Mangal Pandey. An official statement revealed that the initiatives are part of the central government's commitment to uplift farmers under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.

Chouhan also directed ministry officials to provide enhanced support for hybrid and advanced seeds while addressing additional funding requests under various schemes. Notably, the minister pledged support for litchi and honey producers, recognizing Bihar's prominent role in litchi cultivation.
