On Wednesday, the Indian Youth Congress staged large-scale protests in the national capital targeting Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu and other BJP leaders for their comments against Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi. Protesters chanted slogans, burned effigies, and breached police barricades as tensions ran high.

The demonstrations were not limited to Delhi. Andhra Pradesh Congress President YS Sharmila led a protest in Vijayawada, condemning Bittu's comments. 'Today Andhra Pradesh Congress protested in front of Mahatma Gandhi's statue against the disrespectful comments made about Rahul Gandhi. Is BJP afraid of Rahul Gandhi because he is exposing their wrongdoings?' Sharmila stated to ANI.

In Chandigarh, Congress members also took to the streets. Chandigarh Pradesh Congress president HS Lucky accused Bittu of forgetting the support he received from Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party. Meanwhile, a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Delhi High Court against Bittu by Surjeet Yadav, President of Hindu Sena (S), alleging that Bittu's remarks could incite widespread violence

Bittu had criticised Rahul Gandhi during his visit to the USA, accusing him of disloyalty to the nation and associating him with separatists and terrorists. 'Rahul Gandhi is the country's number one terrorist and enemy,' Bittu had said. Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit also slammed Bittu, describing his political career as troubled and filled with opportunistic allegiance shifts.
