Regional authorities confirmed that air defenses successfully intercepted 16 drones during the overnight assault in the Sumy region. Officials also noted that Russia launched missiles targeting energy infrastructure after the initial drone strike, which resulted in power outages and forced the use of back-up power systems.
Ukraine's energy ministry revealed that the attacks on Tuesday led to a fire at a power substation and disrupted power for over 281,000 consumers. The ministry added that power had been partially restored.
