The death toll from the Meerut building collapse has risen to 10, with five individuals currently receiving medical treatment, according to a senior police official. The area has been sealed off, though search and rescue operations are ongoing to ensure no one remains trapped in the debris.

Injured individuals are being treated at the hospital, and the recovered bodies have been sent for further medical procedures, including post-mortem exams. The incident took place around 4:30 pm on Saturday in the Zakir colony area of Meerut City.

Meerut DM Deepak Meena confirmed that 15 people were trapped under the debris; 10 have died, and five are undergoing treatment. The rescue operation will continue until all possibilities of human life in the debris have been ruled out. Earlier reports indicated that nine people had died in the collapse.

Rescue teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are using sniffer dogs to search for any signs of life under the rubble. These efforts are being conducted amid challenging weather conditions, including rain.

Meanwhile, 11 districts in Uttar Pradesh are currently affected by floods, with 17 deaths reported. Relief measures, including financial assistance, are ongoing. The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister's office announced that Rs 4 lakh has been provided to each family affected by the collapse, and relief is being distributed to those affected by the floods and other related damages.
