The Supreme Court on Friday granted bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in connection with the Delhi excise policy case but imposed stringent conditions. Kejriwal is barred from entering the Chief Minister's office and signing any official files.

Speaking to ANI, Kejriwal's lawyer Rishikesh Kumar outlined the bail conditions stipulated by the Supreme Court. 'The conditions include furnishing a surety bond of Rs 10 lakh each. He must also attend every trial date unless an exemption is filed and granted,' said Kumar.

Additional conditions are in line with those imposed during his earlier bail in the Enforcement Directorate's arrest. 'Kejriwal is not allowed to sign documents or function as CM without the Lieutenant Governor's clearance. If any modifications are needed, he must file an application,' added Advocate Kumar.

Key conditions dictate that Kejriwal cannot comment on the excise policy case. He is also restricted from entering the Delhi Secretariat unless absolutely necessary and must fulfill all trial dates unless specifically exempted by the court. The AAP Chief was initially arrested by the ED in March 2024, followed by a CBI arrest in June, regarding alleged irregularities in the now-cancelled 2021-22 Delhi excise policy.
