The Assam Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, announced pivotal decisions for the state on Friday. Key measures include the transfer of illegal trading scam cases to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), partnering with Dassault to develop skilled professionals in the aerospace sector, and launching a new recruitment drive for teachers.

Chief Minister Sarma took to social media handle X to elaborate on the cabinet meeting's outcomes. "In today's meeting of the Assam Cabinet, we have taken some landmark decisions. This includes handing over the illegal trading scam cases to the CBI, and withdrawing 81,000 petty cases to decongest our prisons. We also plan collaboration with Dassault to build trained manpower in Aerospace," Sarma posted.

Other major decisions encompass a Rs 362 crore revamp of Assam Zoo, a Rs 218 crore allocation for a new flyover in Guwahati, and the initiation of recruitment for 4,669 teachers. Additionally, the cabinet approved the purchase of 100 MW of clean wind-solar hybrid power. "We will provide Rs 2 lakh each to 25,238 beneficiaries under the CMAAA scheme starting November 3," said CM Sarma. The recruitment drive aims to regularize 4,669 teachers, with the education department set to publish an advertisement within ten days.
