Bhadradri Kothagudem Superintendent of Police Rohit Raju inaugurated the newly relocated She Teams and Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) offices in the old Chunchupalli Police Station building in Kothagudem town. SP Rohit Raju highlighted that She Teams, established by the Telangana State Police under TGWSW, aim to combat crimes against women and ensure their justice.

Raju noted that women experiencing ragging, eve-teasing, blackmailing, or other issues can approach the District She Teams directly, contacting them via the number 8712682131 with the assurance of complete confidentiality. Offenders will be called to the She Teams office for counseling in the presence of their parents, and depending on the case, legal action may be initiated. He urged girls and women to contact She Teams without hesitation. The She Team personnel will patrol crowded areas like railway stations, bus stands, and colleges to mitigate troublemakers.

The AHTU is a specialized division aimed at preventing human trafficking, including trafficking for organ sale, forced labor, prostitution, and child marriages. The AHTU will also conduct awareness programs throughout the district to combat such crimes. SP Rohit Raju mentioned that both She Teams and AHTU personnel will patrol high-risk areas in plain clothes.

In the past year, She Teams and AHTU have registered over 47 cases, 47 petty cases caught red-handed, and conducted 92 awareness programs across various police stations in the district, according to ANI.
