In the wake of ongoing protests against the alleged illegal construction of a mosque in Sanjauli, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh chaired an all-party meeting to assess the state's situation. Post-meeting, he emphasized the unified stance of all parties on maintaining peace in the region.

'All party representatives voiced their opinions freely, reiterating that Himachal Pradesh is a peaceful state where individuals from any religion can work without restriction. However, all actions must be lawful, and statements that could incite or harm religious sentiments should be avoided,' stated the Chief Minister. He read out a proposal agreed upon in the meeting, urging for the continuation of peace in the state.

The proposal also suggested forming a committee to formulate a policy for street vendors in the state. Pratibha Singh, Head of the HP Congress Committee, expressed gratitude for the all-party meeting and requested the CM to regulate and provide opportunities for businesspersons coming from outside the state.

Protests by Hindu organizations in Mandi against the mosque saw police using water cannons to control the crowd. Tightened security measures, including barricades, were implemented in response to anticipated gatherings, confirmed Mandi Superintendent of Police Sakshi Verma. So far, eight FIRs have been registered, with six police officers injured, including a female officer in serious condition.
