On Tuesday, the Moscow Oil Refinery, owned by Gazprom Neft, resumed operating its crude distillation unit-6 (CDU-6) following a suspension caused by a Sept. 1 drone attack, according to two industry sources who spoke to Reuters on Friday.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin stated on the day of the attack that multiple drones targeted the refinery, resulting in a fire in a separate technical room. Due to the attack, the refinery had to suspend operations at the Euro+ unit, which includes CDU-6 and accounts for about 50% of the plant's prime refining capacity.

In 2023, the Moscow refinery processed 11.6 million tons of crude oil, yielding 2.6 million tons of gasoline, 3.3 million tons of gasoil, 2.3 million tons of fuel oil, and 0.9 million tons of jet fuel. The facility is a crucial part of the region's oil supply chain.
