The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has resumed power connections for 245 customers in Thane under its amnesty scheme, 'Abhay Yojana', an official announced on Friday.

Initiated on September 1, the scheme targets users loaded with a 'permanently disconnected' tag. MSEDCL revives power supply upon the payment of 30% of outstanding dues and offers a 100% waiver on interest and delayed payment charges for those settling the principal amount.

Within the Kalyan Circle, some 2.94 lakh users qualify for assistance under this initiative. So far, 389 consumers have availed themselves of the benefits of 'Abhay Yojana', resulting in 245 restored connections, a company representative noted. Applications can be submitted online via MSEDCL's portal or through local offices, according to Chief Engineer Chandramani Mishra.
