The Meteorological Department has forecast normal weather for the next two days across Madhya Pradesh. However, heavy rainfall is likely to return to parts of the state after September 15 due to a new low-pressure system forming in the Bay of Bengal.
B S Yadav, a meteorologist with IMD Bhopal, explained that the weather system initially affecting Madhya Pradesh has shifted to South West Uttar Pradesh, leading to a decline in rainfall activities. Yet, there is still a chance of sporadic showers in various regions of the state.
Yadav further highlighted that after the current lull, the low-pressure system will move towards Madhya Pradesh over the next two days, potentially causing significant rainfall in eastern parts of the state from September 15 and subsequently impacting Central Madhya Pradesh. A yellow alert for heavy rainfall has been issued for Bhind, Morena, and Gwalior, although the likelihood remains low. Meanwhile, some places will experience sporadic rainfall.
According to recent data, Damoh recorded the highest rainfall in the state over the past 24 hours with 27 mm, while Shivpur Kala saw 103 percent more rainfall than usual. Overall, Madhya Pradesh has experienced 17 percent more rainfall than normal so far. Specifically in Bhopal, rainfall exceeded the norm by 50 percent. Daytime temperatures are expected to rise, while nighttime temperatures will decrease in the city.
