Authorities in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, continued their search for a notorious 'killer' wolf after two women suffered injuries in separate attacks on Thursday. The victims, identified as 28-year-old Gudiya and 50-year-old Mukima, were attacked in Mahasi village.
Victim Gudiya recounted her harrowing experience, stating, 'I was lying down with my child when the wolf suddenly attacked me by the neck around 10 pm.' Similarly, Mukima narrated her ordeal, explaining she was attacked around 11 pm while sitting outside her home. Both women screamed for help, drawing the attention of neighbors.
These attacks follow a series of violent encounters with wolves in the region. Earlier attacks this week left an 11-year-old girl and 50-year-old Pushpa Devi severely injured. The Uttar Pradesh Forest Department has launched 'Operation Bhediya' to track and capture the wolves, installing snap cameras and increasing monitoring efforts. Nine individuals have died, and over 50 people have been injured due to these wolf attacks.
