The Telangana High Court has ruled in favor of using Plaster of Paris (PoP) for crafting Lord Ganesha idols, provided they are immersed in designated areas. The decision was clarified by Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samiti General Secretary Rajya Vardhan Reddy on Thursday.

Reddy elaborated that the High Court had earlier issued specific guidelines mandating separate arrangements for immersing PoP idols and mud idols. However, the recent dismissal of a 2014 contempt petition reaffirmed the need for baby ponds created by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) for PoP idol immersion.

During a meeting with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and other officials, Reddy emphasized compliance with both Supreme Court and High Court directives. The Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samiti will oversee the festivities and immersion process from September 7 to September 17, ensuring all guidelines are followed.
