Shiv Sena MP Milind Deora on Thursday condemned the opposition's criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud's residence during Ganesh Chaturthi, calling it "a very low form of politics." Deora emphasized that visiting homes during the festival, even of political opponents, is a deep-rooted cultural tradition in Maharashtra.

Deora recalled, "In 2009, when K.G. Balakrishnan was the CJI, then PM Dr Manmohan Singh hosted an Iftar party attended by the CJI. Making a political statement now is equally immature." He urged opposition leaders to understand Maharashtra's cultural ethos instead of politicizing the issue.

BJP MP Sambit Patra also criticized the opposition, questioning their objections to Modi's visit for Ganesh prayers. Reflecting on past incidents where political figures met across ideological lines, Patra accused the opposition of double standards, highlighting their silence over similar interactions involving Rahul Gandhi.
