BJP MP Sambit Patra on Thursday lashed out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha of attempting to divide the country on caste and religious lines even while abroad. 'Rahul Gandhi's arrogance as LoP is not confined to the Parliament. His perceived folly was evident in the US,' Patra said. 'Millions of Indians are deeply hurt by his portrayal of India on foreign soil, which amounts to treason. He made divisive statements about Sikhs overseas. This is treason, and calling it 'stupidity' is justified.'

Patra also ridiculed Gandhi's brief pause when asked about the 'A' in the opposition alliance acronym 'INDIA' during a US event. 'Rahul Gandhi's hesitation in explaining the 'A' in 'INDIA' stems from his confusion over whether it stands for appeasement, apraadh (crime), or arrogance,' Patra remarked. 'He eventually recalled it signifies 'Alliance'.'

Furthering his attack, Patra accused Congress of indulging in appeasement politics, particularly in Himachal Pradesh. He highlighted protests in Shimla against the alleged illegal construction of a mosque, criticizing the Congress party's stance. 'Congress' Rural Development Minister Anirudh Singh and the local administration have ignored 45 notices from the Municipal Court demanding legal papers for the mosque,' Patra pointed out. 'If Rahul Gandhi meets Ilhan Omar, it's no surprise he'd support illegal mosques and use force against Hindus. This appeasement must stop.'
