In the face of Spain's energy crisis, farmer David Jimenez Zamora found an innovative solution to soaring gas and electricity prices by using olive pits to heat his tourist farmhouse.
The 48-year-old farmer from Andalusia uses these pits to heat the swimming pool, underfloor system, and hot water for up to 26 guests, avoiding the exorbitant energy bills faced by many others.
Olive pits are also used in producing olive oil and fueling industrial boilers, playing a crucial role in Spain's energy sector and aiding in the country's decarbonization efforts.
