With just a day left for nomination closures, Haryana's assembly polls are witnessing a flurry of candidate announcements. The Congress and AAP on Wednesday unveiled additional candidates, joining the BJP, which had released another list on Tuesday. The Congress made waves by nominating children and relatives of senior leaders, including Aditya Surjewala from Kaithal.

The Congress' latest list features heavyweights like former Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan from Panchkula and Nirmal Singh from Ambala City. Adding to their roster, they announced five more candidates late Wednesday night, completing their lineup for the 90-member assembly. AAP also showcased its star campaigners, including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

Delhi Ministers and key AAP figures Atishi and Manish Sisodia were also highlighted as campaign leaders. The party released its fourth list of 21 candidates, fielding Raj Kaur Gill from Ambala Cantonment among others. Former Deputy CM Sisodia backed Kalayat candidate Anurag Dhanda, emphasizing the party's commitment to battling corruption and poor governance in Haryana.

Former wrestler Vinesh Phogat, who joined Congress on September 6, filed her nomination for Julana with strong support from Deepender Hooda and other leaders. Expressing gratitude to her supporters, Phogat promised comprehensive welfare initiatives. Another key development was BJP's second list release, which introduced candidates like Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini while dropping several sitting MLAs. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to rally on September 14, intensifying what promises to be a multi-cornered election in Haryana.

Voting is scheduled for October 5, with results to be announced on October 8 alongside elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
