In response to the anticipated rush due to the Gr. III & IV examinations in Assam, the Northeast Frontier Railway will operate 12 special trains and extend the services of two pairs of regular trains on September 15, 2024.
The special trains will cover routes including Alipurduar-Guwahati, Alipurduar-Bongaigaon, Mariani-Narangi, Haibargaon-Guwahati, Karimganj-Silchar, Dibrugarh-Ledo, and Jamira-Silchar. Additionally, the regular services of trains such as the New Jalpaiguri-Bongaigaon Express and New Bongaigaon Passenger will be extended to Kamakhya and Kokrajhar respectively.
This initiative aims to ensure smooth travel for exam candidates, minimizing the stress of transportation during the busy exam period, as confirmed by Northeast Frontier Railway's official statement.
