Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, has reaffirmed the government's commitment to prioritizing agriculture and farmers’ welfare, emphasizing that serving farmers is akin to worship. His remarks come in response to concerns from Madhya Pradesh farmers about soybean prices falling below the Minimum Support Price (MSP).

Shri Chouhan revealed that following a message he issued at 9 am urging the purchase of soybean at MSP, the Madhya Pradesh government swiftly acted. A proposal was presented to the Mohan Cabinet, and by the evening, the central government had received and approved the state’s request to buy soybean at MSP.

"Upon receiving the Madhya Pradesh government's proposal last night, we expedited its approval this morning," Shri Chouhan stated. He assured farmers that their soybean will be purchased at MSP rates and they will receive full payment for their produce, alleviating any concerns regarding their crop's value.
