On Wednesday, Congress leader Pawan Khera rebuffed Union Minister Amit Shah's claims that Rahul Gandhi aimed to abolish reservations, declaring such accusations baseless. Khera emphasized that Gandhi plans to increase the reservation limit beyond 50 percent and challenged Shah to publicly declare his opposition.

Khera, responding to Shah's remarks, insisted that if Gandhi had said anything anti-national, Shah should take immediate action. He criticized BJP's reaction and questioned their awareness of figures like Ilhan Omar, suggesting they officially address their concerns to the State Department.

Earlier, Amit Shah cited Gandhi's speech in Washington DC, arguing it revealed Congress's anti-reservation stance. He assured that as long as BJP was in power, reservations and national security would remain intact. Congress spokesman Gurdeep Singh Sappal defended Gandhi's remarks regarding the Sikh community and highlighted the RSS's historical role in promoting a homogenous national identity, contrasting it with Congress's advocacy for religious freedom.

Sappal stressed that the liberties enjoyed by people today were due to Congress's efforts. He argued that if the RSS had succeeded in 1950, the country would have seen the rise of Hindutva. Sappal concluded by underscoring the Congress's dedication to preserving freedom and countering RSS ideology.
