Godavari (Andhra Pradesh) [India], September 11 (ANI): Seven people died in a tragic road accident near the Devarapalli village when a lorry carrying eight individuals crashed into a canal. Area DSP Kumar stated that the incident left seven dead on the spot, with one person rescued and hospitalized.

The accident occurred at midnight within Devarapalli limits as the lorry, transporting cashew nuts and eight laborers, swerved to avoid a pothole. The abrupt maneuver caused the vehicle to lose control and plunge into a canal, resulting in the unfortunate fatalities. The bodies were subsequently transferred to Kovvur Government Hospital, as confirmed by DSP Kumar.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed his sorrow over the mishap, offering condolences to the bereaved families. He directed officials to ensure top-notch medical care for those injured and assured the victims' families of governmental support. Additionally, he emphasized the need for preventive measures to avert similar accidents in the future. (ANI)
