The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) high command convened on Tuesday to strategize on its ongoing membership drive campaign, 'Sanghatan Parva, Sadasyata Abhiyan 2024.' The meeting, led by BJP President and Union Minister JP Nadda, took place at the party headquarters in Delhi. Attendees included senior leaders like Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Organization General Secretary BL Santosh.

Campaign convenor Vinod Tawde reported that the meeting focused on enhancing the drive by involving state presidents from nine regions. Discussions centered on ways to maximize reach, setting ambitious targets for MPs and workers, and focusing on underrepresented communities such as women and rural villages. The campaign, which began September 2, has already garnered over 2 crore members.

State leaders from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan were present. Tawde highlighted Odisha's goal of adding one crore members, targeting areas like farmers' markets and youth activities. Uttar Pradesh aims to recruit over 2 crore members, with each booth enrolling 200 new participants.

Bihar, with a target of one crore members, will see 200 senior leaders spearheading local campaigns. JP Nadda urged the state president to organize multiple events and awareness initiatives, including hoardings and wall paintings.

Madhya Pradesh's President VD Sharma stated the state's goal of enrolling 2 crore members this year, up from the previous year's 1 crore. To date, 41 lakh memberships were secured digitally. A follow-up meeting will review progress in other states next week.
