Tragedy Strikes: Four Young Lives Lost in Pond Drowning

Four minor girls drowned in a pond while bathing in Anandpur, Banka district. They were declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. Locals retrieved their bodies. Bihar CM Nitish Kumar expressed his condolences and announced Rs 4 lakh ex gratia for each bereaved family.

In a heartbreaking incident, four minor girls drowned while taking a bath in a pond in Anandpur area of Banka district on Tuesday, officials reported.

Upon rushing to a nearby hospital, the girls were lamented as 'brought dead' by attending medical professionals.

The tragic episode occurred in the morning when a group of young girls ventured into the pond. Their bodies were recovered by locals before being sent for postmortem, as per officials.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar extended his condolences to the grieving families and announced an ex gratia of Rs 4 lakh each for the bereaved.
