Emphasizing the critical role of cyber security in the progress of any nation, Union Home Minister Amit Shah urged all stakeholders to unite and adopt a coordinated approach toward securing cyberspace. Shah made this appeal during the first Foundation Day celebration of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) in New Delhi.
Shah highlighted that I4C, established in 2015 under the 'Safe Cyber Space' campaign initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has steadily evolved into a robust pillar of cyber security. He underscored that the increasing reliance on technology brings new threats, making cyber security an essential component of national security.
The Home Minister launched several initiatives, including the Cyber Fraud Mitigation Centre (CFMC), the Samanvay platform, Cyber Commandos, and the Suspect Registry, aimed at preventing cybercrime. He stressed that a collective effort is necessary, involving both national and state institutions, to effectively combat cyber threats. A nationwide public awareness campaign was also introduced to inform citizens about cybercrime prevention helplines and I4C's platforms.
