Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Tuesday accused the Congress of creating drama over the implementation of a caste-based census, claiming the party is attempting to regain power under the guise of these issues.
Mayawati alleged that despite being in power for a long time, the Congress neither implemented OBC reservations nor conducted a caste-based census. In a post on social media platform X, she warned people to be cautious of the Congress's theatrics, asserting they will never conduct such a census.
Taking aim at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Mayawati cautioned that his comments on potentially scrapping reservations if India becomes a "fair place" indicate the party's long-standing plot to end reservations. She emphasized that the Congress has always harbored an anti-reservation mindset, urging communities to remain vigilant. "Until caste discrimination is eradicated, proper constitutional provisions for reservations must stay in place," she added.
