Union Minister for Agriculture Shivraj Singh Chouhan has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling him a farmer-friendly prime minister, and reaffirming the government's commitment to purchase soybean from farmers at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). Chouhan noted that under the Price Support Scheme (PSS) Yojana, the Central government had already given permission to purchase Moong in Madhya Pradesh, indicating that the process was nearly complete.

Addressing reporters on Tuesday, Chouhan responded to concerns raised by farmers about soybean procurement. He emphasized that the support price for Soybean is fixed at Rs 4994 per quintal and reiterated the government's commitment to procuring soybeans at the MSP. States such as Maharashtra and Karnataka had requested permission to purchase soybeans under the PSS scheme, which has been granted, Chouhan added.

Chouhan also mentioned ongoing communication with the Madhya Pradesh government regarding the delayed arrival of soybean crops. He assured that the state can procure soybeans under any of the two applicable schemes at the MSP. Chouhan emphasized that giving proper remuneration to farmers is a priority for PM Modi's administration. The Union Minister concluded by assuring farmers in Madhya Pradesh and other states that immediate permissions would be granted for MSP purchases as per the states' requests.
