Karnataka Minister MB Patil has provided key updates on the state's railway initiatives, emphasizing progress on two suburban rail lines, both expected to reach completion by December 2026. He also outlined plans for enhanced connectivity through these projects.
After discussing various state railway projects, Minister Patil informed reporters in Bengaluru that the suburban railway lines, which are part of a cost-sharing agreement between Karnataka and the Government of India, would span up to 75 kilometers. The government also aims to link the suburban railway to a proposed circular railway plan.
Additionally, Patil highlighted the importance of strengthening the Hasan-Bengaluru railway double link line, noting its significance to industrial sectors within the state. Enhanced port access to Mangaluru and Karwar is also part of this comprehensive rail strategy.
