Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to launch several pivotal initiatives aimed at preventing cybercrime in New Delhi on Tuesday. The event marks the first foundation day celebration of the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C).

A significant highlight will be the dedication of the Cyber Fraud Mitigation Centre (CFMC) to the nation. Established at I4C, the CFMC includes representatives from major banks, payment aggregators, IT intermediaries, and law enforcement agencies from states and Union Territories. This center will facilitate immediate action and seamless cooperation to combat online financial crimes.

As per the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), CFMC epitomizes 'cooperative federalism' in law enforcement. Shah will also launch the Samanvaya Platform, a web-based system designed to serve as a comprehensive portal for data on cybercrime. Additionally, Shah will inaugurate the 'Cyber Commandos' program, which will establish a special wing of trained commandos in states, UTs, and Central Police Organizations to enhance cybersecurity defenses across the country. A suspect registry based on the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal will also be introduced to bolster the financial ecosystem's fraud risk management.

These initiatives are seen as key milestones in achieving Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a 'Cyber Secure Bharat'. The event will be attended by high-ranking officials, including Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar, senior police officers, and representatives from financial intermediaries.
