The Telangana Excise Enforcement team on Monday arrested a woman allegedly involved in selling marijuana concealed within turmeric packets. The officials seized 10 such packets in Hyderabad's Doolpet area.

Identified as Neha Bai, the accused was apprehended by Excise Enforcement officials. The operation, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Tirupati Yadav and Sub-Inspector Nagaraj, resulted in the confiscation of 10 packets of marijuana. A case was promptly registered against her.

VB Kamalasan Reddy, the Enforcement Director, commended the team for their efforts in uncovering the illicit trade. Meanwhile, in New Delhi, the Crime Branch seized over a quintal of marijuana, arresting two members of an interstate drug trafficking ring near Narela.

Acting on specific information, the Crime Branch learned that narcotics were being transported in a hidden cavity of a truck from Odisha. Following a technical analysis and field checks, the team set a trap which led to these arrests. The suspects, identified as Sahab Singh and Pradeep Kumar from Haryana, were caught and interrogated.

The Delhi Crime Branch registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Further investigations are currently underway.
