Union Health Secretary Apurva Chandra on Monday unveiled the 'Health Dynamics of India (Infrastructure and Human Resources) 2022-23' annual publication in New Delhi. The document, formerly known as 'Rural Health Statistics' and published since 1992, was described as a fool-proof source of information on the National Health Mission (NHM).

Chandra highlighted the document's role in informing policy-making, improving processes, and offering solutions by analyzing manpower and infrastructure within NHM. The report assists in understanding state requirements, priority areas, and helps in policy formulation and performance comparison across states.

He also stressed the need to integrate the Health Management Information System Portal with other ministry portals to ease the workload of health functionaries. The publication, which is updated annually, offers comprehensive insights into India's healthcare system and serves as a vision document for equitable health service distribution, focusing on rural, urban, and tribal areas.
