Enhanced Security Measures Ahead of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Polls
Security has been intensified in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir, ahead of legislative assembly polls. Authorities aim to ensure a safe voting environment through regular patrolling, enhanced checkposts, and coordinated operations with the army and CRPF. The elections will be held in three phases: September 18, 25, and October 1.

Security measures have been increased in the Rajouri region of Jammu and Kashmir in preparation for the upcoming legislative assembly elections. The authorities aim to create a safe and fear-free environment for voters, as stated by Senior Superintendent of Police Randeep Kumar.
The Jammu and Kashmir police, the army, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) are conducting regular patrols, organizing day domination campaigns, and enhancing security at checkposts. Road marches are also being carried out to ensure voter safety.
In forest regions, coordinated operations and long-range patrolling are in progress with the assistance of the army and paratroopers. Additional forces have been deployed to secure the area. The assembly elections, the first since the abrogation of Article 370, will take place on September 18, 25, and October 1, with counting on October 8.
