Experts pointed out that with international markets enforcing stringent sustainability standards, it is imperative for the state to foster an investment-friendly atmosphere to help farmers stay competitive.
Keynote speaker R.A.S Patel, Deputy Commissioner at the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, emphasized the importance of FDI in driving economic and strategic growth in the sector. He highlighted that such investments are crucial for Gujarat to adhere to global sustainability norms and sustain its position as a leading exporter of agricultural products.
Speakers at the conference, including Prof. Anil Kumar Gupta and Bhikhubhai N Patel, highlighted the challenges faced by farmers due to fragmented water resources and climate change. They advocated for the implementation of precision farming techniques and better infrastructure. The event reiterated the need for private sector investment and government support to enable Gujarat's farmers to meet international standards and capitalize on global market opportunities.
