Maharashtra State Legislative Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar on Saturday played down alleged discord within the ruling Mahayuti alliance following critical comments by Minister Gulabrao Patil. Patil had taken aim at the Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar-led finance department, labeling it as 'incompetent.'

Speaking on the matter, Narvekar said, "When three or four people live in a house, there could be some discord. It does not mean that something is wrong, everything is going well in Mahayuti." Narvekar's remarks came as a response to Patil's public criticism of the finance department, stating that his files were repeatedly being returned without approval.

In support of the alliance's unity, NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal added, "Dada (Ajit Pawar) has been the Finance Minister 10 times and has managed the department effectively. I pray to Lord Ganesh that our leaders and workers avoid public disagreements. We must show that we are united in Mahayuti and committed to delivering good governance."
