On Saturday, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, alongside Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Women and Child Development Pravati Parida, flagged off the 'Subhadra Awareness Van' in Bhubaneswar. The initiative aims to spread awareness about the Subhadra scheme, set to launch on September 17, which is poised to financially empower over 1 crore women across the state.

In a prior event on Monday, Deputy Chief Minister Parida launched the Subhadra Yojana portal at Lok Seva Bhavan. She emphasized that the portal will facilitate beneficiaries in applying for the scheme and accessing its benefits. The scheme is backed by a Rs 10,000 crore budget, and a comprehensive list of 1.5 crore women has been prepared to manage fund distribution efficiently.

Addressing the state assembly earlier, Chief Minister Majhi explained that the government aims to provide Rs 50,000 to women, constituting 50 percent of the state's population, as part of its broader plans to enhance financial independence and empowerment. He affirmed the government's commitment to protecting Odia culture and fulfilling the aspirations of Odisha's 4.5 crore residents, with a dedicated Rs 200 crore fund for cultural heritage preservation.
