In a groundbreaking move to guarantee free and fair elections, authorities in Doda district are deploying advanced technology across all three assembly constituencies. CCTV cameras are being installed at 534 polling stations for the first time, with live feeds monitored from the Deputy Commissioner's office. Special checkpoints and nakas will also be under CCTV surveillance.
District Election Officer Harvinder Singh stated, 'Surveillance is a key focus for this election. We have 27 static surveillance teams operating in three shifts, as well as 27 flying squads conducting surprise checks and raids based on actionable intelligence.' Live monitoring will cover all 534 polling stations 24/7. Security has been significantly heightened in the Rajouri district as well.
Visuals show a heavy deployment of forces in the area. Jammu and Kashmir's elections are scheduled for three phases on September 18, 25, and October 1. Results are expected on October 8, marking the first election since the abrogation of Article 370. The Congress and National Conference are contesting in alliance, dividing seats among themselves and smaller allies.
