Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday engaged with teachers honored with the National Teachers Awards on Teachers' Day. During the interaction, PM Modi highlighted the impact of the New Education Policy (NEP) and emphasized the critical role of teachers in preparing the youth for a developed India, referred to as 'Viksit Bharat.'

According to an official press release, PM Modi underscored the responsibility of teachers in shaping the future of the nation. He discussed the importance of education in one's mother tongue and proposed that educators incorporate local folklore into their lessons to familiarize students with various languages. PM Modi also encouraged taking students on educational tours to enhance their understanding of India's cultural diversity.

The award-winning teachers shared their experiences and innovative teaching methods with the Prime Minister. A total of 82 teachers from across the country were honored by President Droupadi Murmu on September 5. Addressing the gathering, President Murmu emphasized that teachers must cultivate citizens who are not only well-educated but also compassionate, honest, and entrepreneurial. She stressed that the true essence of life lies in working for the welfare of others and urged teachers to instill ethical values in their students.

President Murmu further asserted that teachers are pivotal to the success of any education system, describing teaching as a 'sacred mission of human development.' She added that when students underperform, it underscores a larger responsibility on the education system and its educators.
