Social worker from Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, Manoj Gautam, has been acquitted in a 2017 case alleging the murder of his brother, Vinod Kumar. The acquittal was officially issued by the court of Special Judge Vijay Pal on January 20.

Investigations revealed that Gautam and other co-accused were falsely implicated in FIR no-112 under Police Station Khurja Nagar, Bulandshahar. The FIR included multiple charges under sections 302/309/120b/201/34 of the IPC, sections 3/25/27 of the Arms Act, and Section 3(2)(v) of the SC & ST Atrocity Prevention Act.

The court order highlighted that the police could not establish substantial evidence to support the charges against Gautam and others. Moreover, they failed to prove that Gautam's licensed pistol was involved in the crime. Thus, the court found Gautam not guilty. At the time of the incident, Gautam was vying for the Khurja Assembly seat from the Rashtriya Lok Dal party. (ANI)
