PM Modi Launches 'Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari Initiative' to Tackle Water Crisis

Highlighting recent natural calamities like the Gujarat floods, Modi noted the devastating impact of excessive rainfall across the nation. He commended the public's unity in facing these challenges and pointed out that water conservation is not merely policy but a practice rooted in generosity and responsibility. The Prime Minister stressed that future generations will judge our water conservation efforts as paramount for sustainable development.

Drawing from his tenure as Gujarat's Chief Minister, Modi recounted overcoming water scarcity challenges, including the Sauni Scheme and Sardar Sarovar Dam project. He highlighted the state's success in water management as an inspiration for the country. The initiative, a collaboration between the Gujarat Government and the Ministry of Jal Shakti, aims to build approximately 24,800 rainwater harvesting structures. The programme focuses on community partnership to ensure long-term water sustainability.
