Two school students lost their lives and three others sustained severe injuries after a collision between a school bus and a government bus in Raichur district on Thursday, according to a senior police official.

Traffic and Road Safety ADGP Alok Kumar informed ANI, 'It's a very sad incident involving a Loyola school bus and a KSRTC bus. Due to potholes, the school bus changed lanes and was hit by a KSRTC bus from behind. The impact was so severe that two students died and three lost their limbs.'

Expressing his sorrow, Former Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said, 'I am deeply saddened to learn about the horrific road accident today near Kapgal in Manvi Taluk, Raichur District. I pray for eternal peace for the deceased and a swift recovery for the injured.'

Bommai urged the government to promptly announce relief measures from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund and ensure appropriate treatment for the injured.
