Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat on Thursday underlined the crucial impact of teachers and stressed that dedicated and honest teaching can drive profound societal changes. His remarks came during the 'Best Teacher Award' ceremony held in honour of Teachers' Day.
In the event organized by the Education Department, Governor Devvrat, alongside Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, honored 28 teachers with the prestigious 'Best Teacher Award.' Certificates were also presented to 10 students who benefited from the Mukhyamantri Gyan Sadhana Scholarship and the Mukhyamantri Gyan Setu Merit Scholarship. Education Minister Kuber Dindor and Minister of State for Education Praful Pansheriya were in attendance.
Devvrat, drawing from his 35 years of experience as a Gurukul principal, cited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's book, Kelave Te Kelavani (If It Enriches You, It's Education), to emphasize that negligent teaching can adversely affect families, society, and the nation. He urged teachers to transcend basic instruction, advocating for teachings on non-violence and truth. He highlighted the legacy of teachers like Maharishi Uddalak and King Ashvapati Kaikeya, whose educational influence created a society free from crime and vice where daily worship was routine.
The governor expressed his belief in the potential of teachers to foster positive societal conditions. He encouraged educators to unlock students' potential and responsibilities, contributing to the Prime Minister's vision of an 'Atmanirbhar' and 'Viksit Bharat.' Governor Devvrat concluded by congratulating teachers, emphasizing that their commitment is vital to making India a Vishva Guru.
