Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini launched a blistering attack on the Congress-AAP alliance for the 2024 Haryana Assembly elections, accusing them of being deeply involved in corruption. Saini said, "Congress and AAP both are corrupt parties. There were scams during the Congress era, and Aam Aadmi Party came to power saying that it was corruption-free, but unfortunately, both the corrupt parties have joined hands. Their agenda is not to work for the welfare of the people of Haryana; their agenda is to indulge in corruption and fill their pockets," Saini told the media on Thursday.

Saini also criticized the Congress party's decision to offer tickets to athletes Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat, describing it as a 'political move.' He accused Congress of exploiting athletes, youth, farmers, and the poor for political gain without taking meaningful action to help them.

Expressing confidence in the BJP's victory in the upcoming elections, Saini asserted that the people of Haryana will support PM Modi's vision of a 'Viksit Bharat' (developed India) by 2047. "People of Haryana will vote for BJP for the third time, and we will form the government with a huge majority. The double-engine government has worked extensively in the state. It is PM Narendra Modi's vision to have a Viksit Bharat by 2047, and I have full faith in the people of Haryana that they will support this vision and take it forward with conviction. We are engaging with the public to inform them of our government's accomplishments," he said. In the meantime, BJP initiated a 'Jan Samvad' campaign in the state just ahead of the Assembly elections.

BJP leaders and in-charges in Haryana have been tasked with holding public dialogues to provide information about the government's public interest schemes. Additionally, an introduction booklet will be prepared and distributed among the public to answer questions related to the beneficiaries.

The voting for the 90-member legislative assembly in Haryana will be held on October 5, with the last date for filing nominations being September 12. The counting of votes will take place on October 8. The Election Commission of India revised the polling date from October 1 to October 5, and moved the counting date for both the Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana assemblies from October 4 to October 8.
