The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) intercepted two passengers carrying diamonds weighing about 163 grams, valued at Rs 60 lakh, at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. CISF officials reported the incident during a security check at Terminal 3 on September 4, at 6 am.

The first passenger, identified as Jitendra Farsio, an Indian national, was caught with 80 grams of diamonds hidden in his waist belt. He was en route to Istanbul on a Turkish Airlines flight. Senior CISF and customs officials were promptly informed. Upon checking his mobile phone and through strategic questioning, it was revealed that his accomplice, another Indian national named M Anuj Patil Bhagwan, also carried loose diamonds on the same flight.

Using CCTV footage, the CISF personnel located and intercepted Bhagwan. A thorough search of his handbag revealed additional diamonds weighing about 83 grams. Both passengers, along with the recovered diamonds totaling 163 grams, were handed over to customs officials for further action.
