The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) uncovered significant irregularities during unannounced inspections in 27 schools across Rajasthan and the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi. The inspections aimed to gauge compliance with the Board's Affiliation Bye-Laws and to ensure that educational institutions are adhering to prescribed norms, according to an official CBSE release.

Most of the schools inspected were found to be in breach of the Board's Affiliation Bye-Laws, particularly by enrolling students who were not actually attending classes, effectively creating 'dummy' enrollments. Furthermore, the schools were found to be violating infrastructural standards set by the Board.

Taking serious note of these violations, CBSE is in the process of issuing show-cause notices to the offending schools. Additionally, legal actions against those found guilty of non-compliance are being contemplated, the release stated. (ANI)
