BRS Working President KT Rama Rao has called out Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his criticism of bulldozer justice in Uttar Pradesh, branding Gandhi's remarks as hypocritical given similar actions by the Congress-led government in Telangana.
Speaking to ANI, Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar pointed out that KT Rama Rao's statements contradict Gandhi's critiques. Kumar highlighted the bulldozing actions under the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Monitoring and Protection Agency (HYDRA), which target illegal buildings, purportedly for environmental and climate change reasons.
Kumar further elaborated that while Telangana's demolitions aim to protect people from the impacts of climate change, Uttar Pradesh's actions, which have been contested by the Supreme Court, target individuals with convictions. He urged KTR to consider the context when comparing incidents. KTR also took to X to denounce Congress's alleged hypocrisy, questioning their inconsistency and calling for better governance in Telangana.
