As Ganesh Chaturthi approaches, the demand for Lord Ganesh idols in Hyderabad has surged, turning the city's markets into bustling hubs of activity. Artisans and sellers are experiencing a significant uptick in orders, with many idols sourced from the renowned craftsmanship of Solapur, Maharashtra.

Kishore Yadav, an experienced idol seller, highlighted the consistent growth in demand over the years. 'I have been selling idols here for the past 5-6 years, and the demand has always been strong. We source our idols from Solapur, Maharashtra, which is renowned for its craftsmanship. Every year, we offer 150-200 varieties of idols, and this year is no different,' he shared. Rising costs have not deterred customers, who continue to flock to the markets for their favorite Ganesh idols.

Pawan Kumar, a local resident, remarked on the increasing prices but maintained that the investment was worth it. 'The prices of the idols have been increasing over time, but I find them reasonable considering the quality. I recently bought a 2.5-foot tall idol for Rs 5000, which is quite satisfactory,' he said. The wide range of idols, from traditional to contemporary designs, has spurred heightened interest among devotees.

The excitement in Hyderabad is palpable as the festival nears. Markets are bustling, and sellers are gearing up for a successful season. Visuals from Tiruchirappalli and Madurai districts showcase artisans meticulously hand-painting Ganesh idols, with the market atmosphere brimming with festive energy.

Idols of various sizes, colors, and designs are readily available for purchase. Artisans are showcasing their talent with idols in green, blue, and depicting Lord Ganesh seated on animals like cows or lions. Herbal colors are being used to avoid water pollution during the immersion process, with painters busy adding the final touches to the idols.

Ganesh Chaturthi 2024, celebrated on September 7, marks the joyous birth anniversary of Lord Ganesha. Devotees across India and abroad prepare vibrant pandals, offer prayers, and perform rituals to seek blessings for wisdom and prosperity. The festival concludes with the grand visarjan, where idols are immersed in water amidst chants and music. (ANI)
