New Delhi, 3rd September 2024: The India Bio-Energy & Tech Expo 2024 highlighted the contributions of industry leaders pivotal to India's burgeoning bioenergy sector. Held at the Yashobhoomi Dwarka convention center, the event honored biodiesel suppliers for their outstanding performance during the financial year 2023-24.

At the ceremony, Sh. Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport and Highways, and Sh. Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, presented awards to influential players in the biodiesel industry, acknowledging their role in boosting biodiesel production and supply, which propels India toward sustainable energy.

Recognitions were given to: Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. for achieving the highest volume and blending percentage of biodiesel, Emami Agrotech Pvt. Ltd. as the largest biodiesel supplier to OMCs in the large category, Blue Stone Energy Pvt. Ltd. as the leading UCO-Biodiesel supplier, and Chemenergy Biofuels Pvt. Ltd. as the top supplier in the medium category.

Addressing the gathering, Sh. Nitin Gadkari underscored biofuels' importance in reducing reliance on fossil fuels, forecasting that bioenergy would account for 50% of India's fossil fuel consumption within five years. He also advocated for lowering GST on flex-fuel vehicles to 12% from the current 43% to encourage greener fuel adoption. Organized by the Indian Federation of Green Energy (IFGE), the expo provided a crucial platform to discuss bioenergy technologies and accelerate India's green energy initiatives.
