Senior advocate Pramod Kumar Dubey on Monday urged swift development of judicial infrastructure, responding to President Droupadi Murmu's concerns. He stressed the need for more judges and improved facilities to accelerate justice delivery.

Speaking to ANI, Dubey said, "The government must provide the necessary infrastructure. In Delhi, courts are willing to hear cases if witnesses are present. However, the judiciary faces a heavy workload." Addressing perceptions of powerful individuals escaping punishment, he remarked, "It's inaccurate to claim the wealthy evade justice. Many prominent figures, including industrialists and politicians, are behind bars despite their influence."

Dubey emphasized the judiciary's impartiality, providing legal assistance at all levels, and called for government initiatives to educate rural populations on their legal rights. "Seminars and education on rights are essential. Judges need better infrastructure, including basic amenities, to work efficiently, especially in extreme conditions," he added. He concluded by noting that improved infrastructure would speed up judicial verdicts.

Legal experts have stressed the importance of collaboration between the bar and bench to address issues highlighted by President Murmu. They advocate joint efforts to reduce adjournments and enhance access to justice for the poor and vulnerable.

On Sunday, President Murmu unveiled a new flag and insignia for the Supreme Court on its 75th anniversary in New Delhi. She also addressed the National Conference of District Judiciary, calling for coordinated efforts to tackle significant challenges in the judiciary.
